A recent study has found that many British men with smaller penises are purchasing the wrong size condoms, with 92% opting for regular fit. This is mainly due to embarrassment in ordering smaller sizes. Conversely, some men with larger penises are too shy to buy bigger sizes. To solve this issue, Durex is now offering an online fitting service, allowing men to get the right size condoms.
The online service offers three sizes: a close fit for smaller penises with a 5.2cm circumference, a regular fit for penises with a circumference between 5.3cm and 5.6cm, and a wide fit for those with a 5.7cm circumference. Men can also tailor the lubricant and thickness of the condom to suit their preferences.
Durex conducted this study as it launched the world’s thinnest ever range of condoms, called Nude. The new range is just 48 micrometers thick, compared to the standard 65 micrometers.
A spokesperson for Durex said that as there is variation in the population’s penis size, not all people may be best suited to a regular fit condom. The new range offers three sizes, ensuring maximum pleasure and ultimately enhancing sexual experiences. Durex hopes to raise awareness on the importance of condom fit.
Nikki Hayward, Marketing Manager for Durex, said that condoms do not have to be a barrier to pleasure, and a one size fits all approach is not necessary. She added that everybody should be able to find their best fit and have wonderful, feel-good sex, without compromising on safety or sensation.
