Firefighters had to rescue a curious dog named Gracie after she got her head stuck in a tree. Gracie had poked her head into a hole and was unable to free herself. Fire crews used handheld tools to widen the hole, chipping away at the wood until Gracie was able to remove her head. The rescue took place behind the Boys and Girls Club in Milford, New Hampshire, US, on 28 April. A Milford Fire Department spokesperson said it was the first time they had to pull a dog out of a tree. The dog’s owners said Gracie was unharmed.
After the rescue, local residents commented on social media, with one person expressing pride in their first responders. Another commenter said the poor dog must have been scared, while others praised the firefighters for their work. One person joked that the firefighters should also have saved the squirrel that Gracie was chasing.
