A professional mould remover, Ted V and his Tru Organic Restoration team, have become viral on TikTok after uncovering the extent of a mould infestation in a woman’s house. The woman had become unwell due to the mould, but only a “mild” issue was visible on her walls. However, an air test came back with high levels of chaetomium and stachybotrys or black mould, and the team discovered a shocking extent of it behind the walls.
Ted shared a video on TikTok that garnered 5.9 million views and 300,000 likes. He explained that the woman had suffered from “constant headaches, muscle aches, congestion, fatigue and allergies” due to the mould, and her young children were suffering from the same symptoms. Ted stated that once they began demolishing the walls, they discovered heavy black mould throughout the walls.
The mould removal team found that the bedroom and bathroom were recent extensions to the home and the structure had poor ventilation and was very humid. The materials were installed incorrectly, and there were multiple leaks in the bathroom. They concluded that whoever built the structure did a poor job designing and executing the project.
In the video, the extent of the black mould can be seen as the team peeled back the walls, revealing thick layers of it. The homeowner was shocked to learn how bad the mould issue was, and the team got it cleaned up for her, leaving her grateful and happy.
Ted advised that if anyone sees a little bit of mould growing in their home, they should always be concerned as they never know the true extent of the issue. People need to act quickly to mitigate the problem before it gets worse. This is a valuable lesson to everyone.
